因意外将 6 亿 Facebook 用户的密码以明文形式存储，当地时间 9 月 27 日，爱尔兰数据保护委员会（ DPC ）宣布对 Facebook 母公司 Meta 处以 9100 万欧元（约合 1.01 亿美元）罚款。

Meta fined more than $100 million for storing passwords in plaintext.The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) announced the fine against Meta’s EU branch, saying the company “failed to notify”. the DPC that it “inadvertently” stored user passwords without encryption in 2019.
